Dear Manor Woods Families,

It is hard to believe June is upon us already. As we close out this school year, we are also planning for the upcoming school year. Next week’s Weekly Duck will include some important dates to put on your calendar, as well as some useful resources for you and your family for the summer. Please look for the important dates and resources  next week!

We wanted to take the opportunity to give a SHOUT OUT to our FABULOUS 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students who participated in either our Orchestra or Band concert this week. Both concerts were STELLAR! BRAVO! The musical gifts of our students and staff at Manor Woods are truly amazing! Thank you, Mrs. Zeitler, Ms. Lahan and Mr. Marini for your dedication to our students and our music program. We appreciate you sharing your musical gifts with all of us! Our students are truly fortunate to have each of you.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

DID YOU MOVE? ARE YOU MOVING?

According to HCPSS Policy 9000 - Student Residency, Eligibility, Enrollment, and Assignment, "A student attending a public school in Howard County will attend the designated school serving the school attendance area in which the parents have bona fide residence."

If you have moved or are moving soon, please notify us immediately. We can assist you with transitioning to your child's new school. Whether it be another HCPSS school, a private school, or a school out of the HCPSS district, we are here to help. If you are transferring to another HCPSS school, our registrars will partner to make the transition as smooth as possible.

If you have an address change, please fill out the attached fillable Address Change Form below and email it back to us with your new deed or lease. This way, we can electronically verify your school district and update your new address on file. If you have any questions, contact our front office staff or visit our website for more information.

It is very important for us to have the most accurate information about your residency.

INFORMATION WORTH REPEATING

MWES IMPORTANT SUMMER UPDATE: MWES CAMPUS CLOSURE FOR HVAC RENOVATION

We hope this message finds you well. As we approach the end of the school year, we want to inform you about an important update regarding our campus during the upcoming summer months.

Our school and campus will be closed this summer due to Phase 2 of a major HVAC renovation project that is scheduled to begin shortly after the school year ends. Phase 3, the final phase of the HVAC renovation, will take place in the summer of 2026. This essential work will ensure a more comfortable and efficient environment for our students and staff.

For safety reasons, the campus grounds will not be accessible to the community at any time during the summer. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a secure environment for all involved in the renovation process.

Our front office staff and administration will be working from an alternate location during this time. We will share details about this temporary location and how to reach us in the coming weeks.

In preparation for the renovation, staff will begin packing up their classrooms and workspaces. To support this effort, our wonderful PTA will be sending out a survey soon for parents interested in volunteering to help staff with packing tasks. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we make these important improvements to our school. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
