From School Administration
Dear Manor Woods Families,
It was great welcoming our students back on Monday! We hope everyone had a wonderful spring break enjoying time with family and/or friends making amazing memories!
We have added many dates to the calendar list below and have extended it through June. Please be sure to make note of all of these important dates which also include the updated changes to the calendar due to the snow make up dates.
With the fourth quarter approaching next week, we still have plenty of teaching and learning to take place. We know this can be a very busy time for our students/families with spring sports, activities and/or events and we appreciate your support and collaboration in helping to keep our students present and ready to learn each day. Our staff is dedicated to ending the school year with a strong fourth quarter for our students!
Take Your Child to Work Day 2026 ~ Thursday, April 23rd
Take Your Daughters and/or Sons to Work Day is a public education program sponsored by the Ms. Foundation for Women, which was launched in 1992. This year, Take Our Daughters and/or Sons to Work Day will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026. The Howard County Public School System supports this program, which encourages students to go to work with an adult mentor. It is a great opportunity for students to investigate future careers!
If your student is going to participate in this program, please complete and submit THIS FORM by Wednesday, 4/22/26. Any HCPSS student who has submitted the attached form requesting to participate in this national program will be considered excused, and therefore marked as a “field trip” for their attendance on 4/23/26. Please contact Manor Woods Elementary School at 410-313-7165 if you have additional questions.

Early Pickup/Afterschool Activities Reminders
To ensure smooth end-of-day procedures, please plan to pick up your child no later than 2:55 pm for an early pickup. This helps us maintain a focused learning environment and ensures the safety and smooth dismissal of all students. Picking up students after this time can disrupt classroom activities and interfere with dismissal procedures. Early dismissals cannot be conducted after 2:55 pm. If you arrive after 3:00 pm, you will need to wait in the car loop line until our regular dismissal begins.
Please bring your driver's license for any early dismissal.
If your child has an after-school activity, please provide a note each day. This will help for a smoother dismissal as there are many days our students visit the front office at dismissal with questions regarding an afterschool activity and if they are supposed to stay at school for the activity. A note will help the teacher and your child remember the activity on a weekly basis.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us provide the best possible environment for all students!
