DUCK DISCO - THIS FRIDAY! REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Have you registered yet? The Duck Disco is THIS FRIDAY, June 10 from 6-8pm! Music and dancing, photo booth, snowball truck and lots more fun! 

Registration is now open and is required to attend - click here to register. Note: registrations from canceled event will NOT carry over. You must register again. Parking is also limited; carpooling is highly encouraged. We recommend 1 adult per family to attend to allow for ample space for more students. 

Duck Disco is free, but plan to bring cash (small bills preferred) for concessions and the snowball truck! Remember - this is a Manor Woods student event; parents are required to stay with their children for the duration of the night. Hope you can make it to this end-of-year bash!

 

URGENT VOLUNTEER REQUESTs!

 

- We are in desperate need of judges for our MWES 5th grade Simulated Congressional Hearings this Thursday, June 9th. You do not need to be a judge, just willing to listen to our students via Google meet between 10:30-1pm. Training available earlier that am for volunteers. 

 

- We need non-5th grade parents willing to volunteer to serve refreshments (donuts and juice) to the students and parents for the 5th grade ceremony on June 13. Ceremony begins at 9:30 and ends around 10:45. That’s when the donuts and juice will be served.(Of course if you have a 5th grader we would want you to be with them.

RESTAURANT NIGHT

Thank you to everyone who participated in our final Restaurant Night of the year yesterday at Yogi Castle! We are grateful to all of our families for making this year’s Restaurant Nights a success!

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Parent Team 

The DEI Parent Team would like to thank Mrs. Shin, the MWES ESOL team and the parent volunteers for taking the lead on the AAPI Multicultural Craft Night. It was a beautiful night and there was good attendance. 

 

Celebrating PRIDE Month

Pride Month is an entire month dedicated to the uplifting of LGBTQ+ voices, celebration of LGBTQ+ culture and the support of LGBTQ+ rights. Throughout the month of June, nationwide, there have traditionally been parades, protests, live theater and memorials and celebrations of life for members of the community who lost their lives.

PTA BOARD/COMMITTEES - HELP NEEDED

The PTA needs your special skills, talents and time! We need chairs and co-chairs for the following committees for our 2022-2023 school year!

 

2nd Vice President - Are you willing to help whenever you may be needed? Or if there is an emergency and the VP or President can’t do something, then you can step in. Plus we all need checks and balance and you can be that person to help balance us out. Come on over to the board and take on your leadership role as 2nd VP! 

 

Yearbook- We all love taking pictures of our children with our phones at all the special events. Well come join this committee and help to gather those photos and put together an amazing yearbook!

 

Fundraising/Marketing - One of our biggest fundraisers is the Duck Dash! What a success it has been in helping the PTA raise money for school events, teacher needs and resources and other special projects and requests! If you are good at making calls, returning emails, putting together ads, and are willing to help us raise funds for our school, then this committee is for you!
