Welcome to Manor Woods Elementary! I am the new principal of Manor Woods Elementary School. I am excited to share with you that I started my career in the Howard County Public School system and have over 26 years in education, including eleven years in the classroom, ten years as an assistant principal, and I'm beginning my 5th year as a principal. I am very proud to say that I work in Howard County! Most recently, I served as the principal of Dayton Oaks Elementary School. As an assistant principal, I served at Forest Ridge Elementary School, Dayton Oaks Elementary School and Pointers Run Elementary. Daily, I strive to engage in the school setting as much as possible, engaging with students and staff and using my observations and passion toward teaching to help children and staff members reach their fullest potential. I truly want students to grow and learn, in a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment. It is my belief that parents, guardians, and community members are an integral part of a child's learning and development and I want encourage adults in our community to share the responsibility for our students and their drive to become outstanding citizens.

I am excited to serve our community for my third year here at Manor Woods! My career in education began in Montgomery County, where I taught first, fourth, and fifth grades. I then worked as an instructional specialist in the Office of Curriculum and Instructional Programs before being promoted to assistant principal there. I came to Howard County in July 2015 and have so enjoyed serving the students and families of this county. Personally, I live in Columbia with my husband and two children, who are elementary-aged. When I'm not at work, I love to hike, cook and bake, read, and spend time traveling to new places. Please feel free to contact me by phone or via email with any concerns or questions that you may have. I am looking forward to working together in support of every student at our great school!
