From the PTA President

Hello Manor Woods Families!

Now that the PTA is officially back in session I wanted to take a minute to welcome you all to what’s shaping up to be another awesome school year!  My name is Samantha Norris, and I’m the new president of the PTA. I work in finance at the University System of Maryland and have 3 children (2 still at MWES in 1st and 4th, and one that moved up to Burleigh Manor this year). We keep ourselves busy with a variety of sports teams (soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, basketball, baseball, swimming…) and other activities, (if I seem flustered when you see me, this is why!). Our new executive board was elected at our meeting last week. Please welcome: Meghan Beno, VP; Melissa Porta, 2nd VP; Kelly Ulloa, Secretary; Jessica Clark, Treasurer; and Lizzy Endler, Webmaster. Check out the post in our Facebook group for some background on each!

The PTA has been busy planning a bunch of fun social and enrichment events, as well as fundraisers, and have a few surprises lined up to pamper our teachers and staff. Please be sure to check out our new revamped website (www.MWESpta.com) for more information, and join the “Manor Woods PTA Families” facebook group.  

Planning for our big annual fundraiser, the Duck Dash, is in full swing. You will receive information on this in the next couple weeks. If you or someone you know is part of a company that would like to become a sponsor, please reach out to manorwoodsfundraising@gmail.com. 

We’re always looking for new ideas that our families are interested in, so if you have any suggestions, let us know! Contact information for our committees is available on the website. 

Lastly, we hope you will register to support the PTA, your membership will provide much needed support for these events. If you feel inclined to volunteer, donate, or otherwise sponsor the PTA, please let us know! You will receive all PTA emails regardless of membership status.

Restaurant Night

Please join us Thursday, September 28th at The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar for the first restaurant event of the year!

The event will take place 4pm-7pm.

Blacktop opens at 6:15pm, Bingo starts at 6:45pm

Bingo is free! There will be food trucks, pizza, and treats for purchase. (Cash only, please bring small bills.)

Yearbook Request for Photos

The yearbook committee is putting together a "Back to School" spread for the yearbook and wants you to be a part of it!

If you are interested in having your student's 1st day of school photos in the yearbook please email them to manorwoodsyearbook@gmail.com.

Please put "First Day of School Photos" in the subject line. Photos should be in jpeg or png format.
